ISUKU, which means "CLEANLINESS", is an initiative that builds and renovates WASH facilities in schools and communities to promote hygiene, water, and sanitation.
Building a healthy environment in communities
Construction of water and hygiene infrastructures in schools: SaCoDé facilitates access to drinking water for schools with poor hygiene conditions. The organization also constructs pit latrines in schools as part of its activities.
Construction of water and sanitation infrastructures in communities: Sanitation infrastructure is often needed by communities. Through SaCoDé, communities have access to safe drinking water and pit latrines, especially in camps for IDPs.
Community education for the adoption of good hygiene practices and maintenance of the facilities: It is essential to establish and build the capacities of hygiene committees and water committees for hygiene education to make the existing infrastructures truly effective. Water and hygiene committees ensure that infrastructure is properly managed and maintained, as well as the protection of assets and the sensitization of the population to adopt good hygiene practices.
