Françoise Nibizi, Founder and Executive Director of SaCoDé, took part in a two-day regional meeting for Southern and Eastern Africa from October 11 to 12, to assess the commitment made by governments in 2013 regarding the sexual and reproductive health of young people (#SSRAJ). It was also a question of participating in the elaboration of the 2nd commitment to be made.
This regional meeting was organized simultaneously in the countries that have #signed the commitment by the various UNFPABurundi offices present in each region.
About Burundi's achievements in integrating the 1st commitment, there has been the setting up of "#amis_des_jeunes" health centers, the production of information guides as well as the introduction of a course on #sexual_education.
Despite this, #challenges such as #school_abandonment, #early_marriage, and #gender_based_violence (GBV) are still present, but progress is considerable.
