HAKIZIMANA Elisabeth, aged 25, is the
mother of 2 children. She is a member of VSLA
Agateka, which operates from the
SaCoDé center in Cibitoke province.
She started using the Agateka towel 2 years ago, as she tells us:
In the past, I used to use disposable towels commonly known as "Cotex" during the period. It was a real ordeal for me to wear them, as my private parts itched and even burned.
On other occasions, when I didn't have enough money to buy disposable pads, I used old pieces of cloth. When I used them, I felt very bad, so I isolated myself and stayed at home for fear that others would smell the bad odors I was giving off", she adds.
For me, using the AGATEKA towel was a solution in line with my health and also my financial means, as AGATEKA is washable and reusable over a 5-year period.
