The Association pour la Promotion de la Santé des Communautés et le Développement - Sacodé, is a non-political and non-profit organization registered in Burundi under Ministerial Order No. 530/431 of April 20, 2011.


Our journey began in my garage, where I sought long-term solutions for female relatives and friends struggling to find employment. Recognizing the need for professionally trained cleaning staff in the hospitality industry, I began equipping them with in-demand skills. This initiative quickly expanded as successful job placements in Bujumbura's hotels and restaurants led more women to seek training. Beyond job skills, I instilled knowledge of personal hygiene and basic financial management to help these women regain independence and dignity. Additionally, I identified significant gaps in access to adequate menstrual hygiene management, reproductive health, and family planning.


Over the years, Sacodé has grown and evolved significantly. We now address broader community issues through empowerment, infrastructure development, and policy advocacy. With the support of our dedicated team, the communities we serve, and our generous partners, we are committed to creating sustainable change. We focus on building capacity and fostering environments where everyone, especially women, can thrive.
