Let's Eat Healthy Together! Promoting a Balanced Diet in Our Communities

From May to August 2023, 8 vegetable gardens were set up and supervised. These vegetable gardens were set up within five village savings and loan associations in the KARUSI center. These are the TUTEZANYE IMBERE Association on the BUHINDYE hill in the BUGENYUZI commune, DUTEZIMBERE AGATEKA on the NGAYANE hill in the GITARAMUKA commune, ITERITEKA MUKENYEZI on the RAMBA hill in the GIHOGAZI commune, TWITEZIMBERE on the RUSAMAZA hill in the GIHOGAZI commune and DUTEZIMBERE AGATEKA II on the NGAYANE hill in the GITARAMUKA commune. Since January 2023, the center has had 14 vegetable gardens scattered throughout our operation area. The center expects to have 46 vegetable gardens by the start of the rainy season till December 2023.

Implementation of kitchen gardens: Permaculture-based kitchen gardens were established by educated beneficiary households.
